Tessa Habits (“Tessa”) is made by brikks studio, an independent developer. This policy explains what data Tessa handles, why, and how you can delete it.
Without an account
Your habits, check-ins and settings are stored only on your iPhone. We don’t receive them.
With an account
An account is optional. If you create one, our server stores:
- your email address, and your password as a secure hash if you sign up with email;
- your habits (name, icon, color, type, daily goal, unit and schedule) and your daily check-ins, with the time each one was last changed;
- technical records of requests to the server (IP address, time and the address requested), kept for a few days to keep the service secure.
If you sign in with Google or Apple, that service shares your email address with us. With Apple you can hide your real address and share a private relay address instead. We don’t keep your name or profile picture.
How we use your data
Only to run Tessa: to sign you in, back up your habits and sync them between your devices. We don’t use your data for advertising, don’t combine it with data from elsewhere and don’t share it with data brokers.
Services Tessa relies on
- Our server. A virtual server rented by brikks studio stores account data as described above.
- Google and Apple sign-in, only if you choose them. Their own privacy policies apply to what you share with them.
- Expo (EAS Update) delivers app updates. When Tessa checks for an update, Expo receives technical information: your IP address, the app version, the platform and a random installation ID. Your habits are never sent to Expo.
- Apple distributes the app. If you allowed it in your iPhone’s settings, Apple shares crash reports and anonymous usage statistics with us.
Photos
When you save a share picture, Tessa asks for permission to add photos. It can only add the picture you chose and can’t see your photo library.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep account data until you delete your account. To delete it, open Settings → Account → Delete account in the app: your account, habits and check-ins are deleted from our server at once and removed from your iPhone. If you can’t open the app, email us from your account’s address and we’ll delete it for you.
Signing out removes your habits from the iPhone but keeps them in your account. Deleting the app deletes everything stored on the iPhone.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it by writing to support@brikks.pro.
Security
Connections to our server are encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and each account can only see its own habits.
Children
Tessa isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
